Just a few steps away from the city center, lies Hljómskála garden. It surrounds the south part of Tjörnin (the Lake). During the summer, you can take a nap on a blanket in the garden, or have a picnic. There is a play area for the children and an outside barbeque, just remember to bring your own food, coal and some matches.
How to get there
Walk straight to the south on Lækjargata from the city center (Austurstræti). Walk along Tjörnin until you reach trees on the left side of the lake. Hljómskálagarðurinn is around the south part of Tjörnin.
